Dwarf caiman for sale. Cuvier’s dwarf caiman (Paleosuchus palpebrosus) is a small crocodilian from northern and central South America in thealligator family. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Surinam and Venezuela. It lives in riverine forests, flooded forests near lakes, and near fast-flowing rivers and streams. It can traverse dry land to reach temporary pools and tolerates colder water than other species of alligator. Other common names for this species include the musky caiman, the dwarf caiman, Cuvier’s caiman and the smooth-fronted caiman. It is sometimes kept in captivity as a pet and may be referred to as the wedge head caiman by the pet trade.

Currently, we have a number of baby dwarf caimans for sale. With adults only growing to be 3-4.5 feet long, this Crocodilian species is the smallest one that is now available for the pet trade. Please remember that as this species becomes bigger, the animal will need a big cage and lots of warm water to survive.

For years, we have been importing dwarf caiman, and we currently provide the majority of those that are in the United States.

From our 2021 season, we are finally making some of our captive-bred baby dwarf caiman! These are established young from our long-term adult group, which Riley’s Reptiles has had for almost 30 years! Our captive-bred kids have shown to develop into quite tractable adults if you maintain a regular handling schedule. It’s like having a piece of antiquity in your house or business. These would make fantastic pets or show animals. We have numerous males available, therefore we have listed them separately.
